Prohm’s style is nothing like Hoiberg’s. Prohm was on the coattails of Murray St. former head coach then Hoiberg. He has been way over his head but has simply been in the right place at the right time. His true colors have shown for years. Prohm is NOT a fit for a program that can be awesome.

Ummm, Hoiberg himself said Prohm's style was like his. He said Prohm's offense was the closest to his when Pollard hired Prohm.

Prohm just didn't recruit the shooters Hoiberg did...or help improve their shooting like Hoiberg did...or coach very well...

But hey, their styles were similar.

You should familiarize yourself with “spin”.

Agree, although your hyperbole of “nothing like” has likely triggered those that were delusional about Prohm well past the point in which any informed fan would be. Nothing like would have led to the disaster that Pitt experienced.

“Style” doesn’t matter when your coach fails to implement basic fundamentals of the game, let alone an entire offensive/defensive scheme.

Prohm’s ties to the south were a flop, so he shifted and recruited very well in the Midwest. So again, people’s major plus for TJ is recruiting ability and ties to areas that Prohm has done very well in. If he’s able to recruit better than Prohm, it probably won’t be by much. So then it comes down to turning that talent into a team.

Did he? Midwest success gets pretty thin after THT and Haliburton.

I guess Hunter looks promising, and Foster was a nice feather in his cap.

Yeah, after 6 years I really struggle to see any identity of Prohm ball. Well, any positive one at least.

But he does a great Dickie V impression and is reportedly a "nice guy"

This fan base is so patient. I mean over the top with knowing how tough bringing a winner to Ames can be.

To even have a pocket of support for Prohm shows how special this group is. Seriously.

Regardless of their finish, Lewis and Griffin were also 247 4 star guys that were a little outside the top 100.

Since 2017, Prohm got 2/9 4 star and above that came from WI (Hunter and Lewis). Plus he got Halliburton, who was a high 3 star. There were a couple blue chip guys in there like Jalen Johnson and Baldwin, plus you are in big 10 country. So yes, over the past 5 years he got 3 of the best 10-12 prospects in the state.

You nailed it in that last sentence. Prohm was an average recruiter of guard/wing talent. He was only average in guard/wing recruiting because for every Shayak, Halliburton or Bolton- he brought in 3 guys that don't have basic basketball skills (shoot, dribble, pass) to play his 1-4 offense.

But where he failed was recruiting a roster. Other than Solomon Young, he hasn't signed a Big12 starter level post player and that includes the transfer market. He hasn't attracted enough Big12 level athletes. ISU might be the most "below the rim" P5 team. One area where that really shows up is rebounding.

Are people thinking the meeting is Monday? I assume Jamie is with the committee all day today, fly back tomorrow? Could we be looking at Tuesday or even Wednesday? I would think this doesn’t get dragged out too long.
