Here's your latest update in the world of thoroughly unsurprising news...

Everything finally gets rescheduled from COVID issues, and then we get the worst freaking Texas snowstorm in decades.

And powering up an arena isn't exactly consistent with "everybody do what they can to conserve electricity".

Big12 Wednesday game update.

Okie State won comfortably at home by beating K-State 59-46, as expected. Natasha Mack had 24 pts and 17 rbs, while Ayoka Lee had 27 pts.

Besides our game against KU tonight, the other three games all got postponed due to inclement weather.

Wow, after Lee, nobody scored more than 5 points for Kansas State. And, aside from Lee, all but one player made just one basket or less (with the exception making two). Talk about not having a good game as a team. Yikes.

Tennessee broke a two game losing streak by beating #2 South Carolina tonight 75-67.

At Rocky Top but still a big win for them.

Channel flipped into Michigan losing a close one to Indiana, two ranked teams. Michigan missed a bunch of games (Covid) and is playing catchup with 5 games in 12 days. Play, travel, short scrimmage, play.

The entire team sucks on defense. They are a more extreme version of us, #2 in the Big 10 in scoring (like we are in the Big 12) but dead last of 14 teams in defense. We are mediocre on defense, they are just plain bad, very bad.
I would put Minn as the worst defensive team in that conference. They are dead last in that key stat - FG% defense.

Both giving up right at 80 points a game. Woof. At least Iowa scores enough to average more than they surrender. Gophers are 10th in scoring. Not been pretty up north here. They've somehow managed 6 conference wins. Blown several other leads.

West Virginia just narrowly escaped with a win over TCU 81-78.

Kysre Gondrezick left for the locker room during warmups and never returned (edit: at half, not start of game). Going to assume she is sick. 21 pts a game average.

Madisen Smith, another starter, got rolled over and was on crutches at the end of the game. They may have a big chunk of their lineup out come Wednesday at Hilton.

Edit: They were down to seven players able to play in second half. Gondrezick actually left at the half. Not sure if sick or injured.

Latest NET rankings for Big 12 teams heading to March Madness. ESPN still has OSU as a 10 seed which is beyond stupid based on how they've played this year, their conference record and NET score.

Only two games in the next two weeks followed by another week off. At least some Big 12 makeup games to watch. Going to be boring.

Charlie Kolar: "It seems like before we play everyone, they miraculously get back to full health."

Sunday afternoon Big12 update.

Game #1 Baylor beat OU at home 77-66. Now We are guaranteed to finish at the top 5 in the final Big12 regular season standings.

OU has only the Texas game as the tough one left and the other four are against the bottom-5. OU has been playing much better lately. If they could finish the league play 9-9 and have an overall winning record, they might get into the WNIT (all Big12 top 5 will be qualified for the NCAA tournament). Sherri Coale is a good coach and a dear friend of Coach Fen. I hope she can keep her job.
