most talentedLol good grief Irving was not the best pass rusher ISU has had in a decade.
He had the POTENTIAL to be, but definitely was not in the time he spent here.

Irving wasn’t effective as a DE. Basically in two years at DE he had the TCU play and a whole bunch of ineffectiveness.Bailey career, yes.
Petersen, no.
Irving is the most talented pass rusher we have had at this school in over a decade. McDonald could be more talented, but jury is still out.
That's a heavy take. Reggie Hayward and Jason Berryman would have to be in that argument. We are pretty lucky right now. Our current defensive ends might be the two best defensive ends in our school's football history and they are both here at the same time.
Berryman had the best motor. As a unit I still like that 2005 squad. Berryman, Curvey, Leaders, & Moorehead.
I think they're still tinkering with that. He dropped into coverage on a zone blitz last game.So happy he found a place on the D-Line after we tinkered with him and tried him out at LB.
I miss VEISHA.
It's not that heavy of a take. I did say maybe. That's a heavy take. Reggie Hayward and Jason Berryman would have to be in that argument.
Looks like a zone blitz wrinkle Heacock is throwing in. They’ve dropped Bailey a couple times too. I really think the LB ship has sailed for McDonald. He’s really good at DE and keeps becoming more complete.I think they're still tinkering with that. He dropped into coverage on a zone blitz last game.

I didn’t say it was stupid or rediculous, but yeah heavy. Certainly Can’t dismiss it outright. It's not that heavy of a take. I did say maybe.
Our most talented pass rusher had a career 3 sacks in 32 games? Yikesmost talented
Everyone knows that there is a gap between talent and production. Some bridge that gap.Our most talented pass rusher had a career 3 sacks in 32 games? Yikes
They’ve been dropping hm into coverage a lot. I think he’s been getting the “spy” assignment against mobile QB’s.There is no doubt about one thing, no one gets held more obviously than McDonald without getting the call. I have seen him in half a dozen headlocks without getting a holding call. Glad they found a place for him and are not afraid to turn him loose off the edge.

him and hallIncredible stuff. I think he could be the one to end Iowa State's first-round draft pick drought.
