Banks first full years as a starter:
Big ten championship, 11 wins, Davey O’Brien Award, Big Ten offensive player of the year, Big Ten player of the year, AP college football player of the year, Second team all American, Chicago Tribune Silver football award, finalist for the Maxwell, Heisman runner up, and finalist for the Walter camp. Purdy has stats but Banks had wins. Wins>Stats
Judging a QB on wins is dumb. So much more involved than wins and losses. If Purdy had an average OL and a Big Ten West schedule he wins 12 games minimum last year. Banks played behind the best OL in school history

How about judging by awards and national recognition?

To say Purdy wins 12 games is dumb. The O-line ISU has last year was average and would have been ok in any P5 conference. The one this year is going to suck. Besides Purdy loses to Wisconsin, Minny, and Iowa in the B1G West last year anyway. And if you get decent teams from the east then idk if ISU wins more then 7 games.

I was told the OL "sucked" last year. For Purdy to put up those numbers vs a top 5 schedule is absolutely ridiculous

C'mon now Chuckie's W-L record 4-17
QB Rating 64.5

If we're basing this on professional accomplishments Chuck Long sucks.
heisman runner up, Davey O’Brien award, 1st team all American, maxwell award, Big 10 player of the year, 3 times 1st team all Big10.

Yeah using wins would mean Nathan chandler is a better Qb than Aaron Rodgers.

wins shouldn’t be the only measure but stats shouldn’t be either. Otherwise Mike Leach has coached about half of the top 10 qbs of all time.

You act like we're Texas Tech fans here. We just played a top 5 schedule in the entire country and put an emphasis on running the ball and defense. Purdy's stats aren't inflated if anything they're even more impressive given his circumstances

Just judging QBs blindly based on stats.

I'm not judging him blindly on stats. There's a reason he's a projected first rounder at the next level even. Yes he puts up ridiculous numbers but he also has all the intangibles you want in a QB

Should be an All-American or a Heisman finalist for sure then.
