Georges has keyed a good Jazz run with 10 PTS and an assist in the 1st quarter.

Nader hit a 3-pointer in his game right after Georges. 2 more threes than ex Hawkeyes will hit today :)

Nader with 7 in the 1st half in 12 minutes. ZERO points for Burton in 16 minutes in the 1st half.

27-footer for Doolie:

So, the Thunder v. Suns game was a strange one AND a missed opportunity for one Cyclone. The Thunder rested many of their top players but got out to a huge lead. Then D. Ayton arrived (late, waiting for a C19 test result). It turns out that Ayton > Muscala and the lead evaporated.

Deonte Burton got in early and often and didn't help himself; it might be hard for him to land somewhere in the next NBA season and he's going to be too late to latch on overseas, most likely. DB30's line: 32 MIN, 2 PT, 0-5 FG, 2-2 FT, 3 REB, 1 AST and -18.

Nader started and once again showed that he belongs in the NBA even if the Thunder don't needs him with all their young wing talent. He definitely is a good guy to have available on the bench. Doolie's line: 26 MIN, 15 PTS, 6-9 FG, 2-4 3PT, 1-1 FT, 1 REB, 2 STL and 2 TO.

The Jazz were more than happy to lose to the Mavs to stay in 6th place (apparently, facing the Nuggets is better than other choices (such as the Rockets). Mitchell sat out and other starters only played the 1st half. Apparently, Georges is now a key rotation piece to rest for the playoffs because he started the 2nd half but only played a few minutes - enough to drain another 3 - before watching what was Utah's 3rd unit lose to something like the Mavs' 2nd unit (no Doncic or Porzingis). Felt sort of preseason-ish.

Mavericks 122 Jazz 114.

Georges' shooting was smokin' though and he ended with the following line: 15 MIN, 13 PTS, 4-5 FG, 4-4 3PT, 1-2 FT, 1 AST and +11.

Matt Thomas is on ESPN now - came off the bench in the 1st quarter and immediately drained a long 2 on the move.

One guy in double figures after Q1 in the Raps-Bucks game: Matt Thomas with 12.

No, Lowry, Giannis and Van Vleet are not playing. but Matt is working for his shots, they're getting him the ball and he's draining it.

And going off! 12 points in the first. And a “no more doubting Thomas” from Mark Jackson.
That one was a groaner but Matt is showcasing what he can do. He's clearly moving to a Redick-type style; really moving well without the ball.

In the 2nd half, the Bucks mostly put George Hill and Eric Bledsoe on Matty, NOT Korver and DiVincenzo. They were taking him seriously.

Matty has been off the hook since he's gotten actual run in the league, and he's obviously for real at this point. I don't know who you'd trust more to make a chuck shot, other than Harden and Curry.

I see no advantage to getting the 2 seed. Good for you, you get to play Doncic instead of the Jazz or the Thunder. And then if you win you don't get home court advantage in the 2-3 matchup anyway.
Home court advantage?

I'm always a little surprised when his shots don't go in.

The Nuggets dropped a close one vs. the beatable-looking Lakers, 124-121. Denver played their (healthy) top players but for fewer minutes than normal. Monte was in double figures again - all 6 games in the bubble - with a line of 23 MIN, 14 PTS, 5-11 FG, 3-4 3PT, 3 REB, 4 AST, 1 TO and +4.

Talen Horton-Tucker just might have carved out a rotation spot; he was the 10th guy (they played 10) and got 6 minutes of PT. He missed his only shot.

A shot of Monte hitting a 3 over THT:

Note: Naz is in the bubble but has not been dressing for the Pacers' last few games.
