Wonder if there will be much trading this year. I doubt it. But damn do I wish we could get some other trustworthy options in the bullpen right now. Jeffress and maybe Wick are the only ones I don’t think are what seems like automatic runs when they come in

David Bote has always been pretty good in the field but he has stepped it up so far this year, and he's been consistent at both positions he plays. I like to see it, there's a lot of value in a player like that.

The contract was pretty solid. Not a gigantic risk for quite a few years.

Listening to the radio, and Ron Coomer is either lying or misremembering.

He claimed he was in the same athletic conference in HS as Naperville Central, my dad's alma mater. No, Ron, you went to Lockport HS, which was in the same athletic conference as MY alma mater. (And no, there wasn't any realignment back then) Not saying he didn't play Naperville Cent. at all, just wasn't in his conference.

It’s a shame that it’s only a 60 game season as I’m digging this little run they got going on. Could’ve been something like 135 and 27 for a record at this rate

Pretty sad when the announcers get excited about a batter actually swinging at a curve ball by Kimbrel. I hope he gets it figured out and starts earning that $16 mil a year contract but this is exactly why the Ricketts do not like to spend money on a high dollar closer and this is proving that before our eyes Before him we saw Morrow fall apart too. They did not pony up for Chapman or Wade Davis when they hit free agency and went with mostly cheaper options. That is proving true this year too probably as Rowan Wick so far has been the most reliable reliever.

They already had to do 55 games in 52 days I read. If they have to cancel this series, that’s a lot of games.
