I honestly thought about this being an option with hotels/food/etc.

Bill Simmons has been talking about this for a few weeks. Makes a lot of sense.

Isn't the NBA season usually over in June? It's probably not a popular opinion but if you are going to start it in July just call the season over and start working for next season.

Does Disney have more than the one court in the venue where we played a few years ago?

Not when you can make a bunch more money playing games and having a championship.

The season starts in October.

If games start in July, the finals wouldn't be over until August or September. That means no off-season.

I understand the money side but this will push the close of the season pretty close to the opening of next season. As well as running over into other sports that it normally don't compete with.

If it were me and safe, I'd restart in July until Sept. Then start next season on Christmas and go until "normal." Then it wouldn't interfere with Olympics in 2021 if that happens.

I mean, they have had the last two plus months off. It'll just be a few week break between seasons for the finals teams. I can't imagine it'll be that big of a deal.

I understand there is more money that way for the NBA (probably not for your average team though), but it messes with two seasons instead of one.

Adding 3 months to an already long NBA season is a big deal for the players' bodies.

I guess they feel the money they would forgo to keep things more normal is too important to not take advantage of.

I mean, they are getting paid bigly and have world class trainers at their disposal. If they had a problem with this, they'd speak up, but I'm not seeing that being case here.

LeBron wants to shoot for another ring because he's getting old. I think LeBron will get his wish.

Its not adding 3 months to a season. It will be an overall reduction in the number of games played for them this season.

There is some wear-and-year saved if they just play everything in Orlando and never have to travel between different cities, too, mind you. NBA players travel in the most comfortable circumstances possible, that is still time and some energy used.

I thought I heard that if the season doesn't restart the team with the best record is crowned the champion, which is the Lakers barely edging out the Bucks. Was what I heard inaccurate?

I'll bet that LeBron gets a room with a piano!
