The last two days have seen ~10% increases each day in cases in the 77 counties that have “re-opened”. That seems to be a problem.
10%? Small price to pay to be able to get that butterfly with eagle wings tramp stamp finished.

Over 240,000 confirmed Covid deaths in the world and u just want to give China a free pass? The obsession with china is ridiculous. China is not the issue here.
China didn't prevent us taking action. We knew the whole time what was coming and did almost nothing meaningful until well into March.
And while they may have downplayed their official numbers, we've seen a lot of that going on here too, so maybe we should worry about ourselves first. We could have handled this quickly and with much less damage had we been on the ball.
I for one am not giving China a free pass. Yes, they could have been truthful from the start back in December. However, our government (national and local) totally let us down since they knew what was going on at least by mid to late January. They wasted over a month spewing lies and misinformation instead of taking it very seriously and making preparations to keep the numbers far fewer than they are now. I call it a total and unequivocal failure.Over 240,000 confirmed Covid deaths in the world and u just want to give China a free pass?

So changing gears a little what should the worlds response be to China when this problem is under control? It was likely an accident that this occurred, at least according to intelligence reports. More could have been done as far as containment and travel restriction initially. As well as being more forthcoming with information. However I’m not surprised they tried to hide/downplay/ deny the problem, that’s a page out of the old Soviet playbook. The Soviets did the same with Chernobyl. Just curious on thoughts.

27% of total deaths but without a standard reporting method who knows what the actual % is.Notice how we have a quarter of those yet we are like 4% of the world's population?
The death toll in this is primarily related to how countries respond to it. Every country was going to get hit at some point, but some countries have dealt with it better than others.
When did they reopen? No chance that these positives have occurred since they opened.

I wonder if people going out to eat figure they will have to take off the mask to eat, which will be a considerable amount of time, that they might as well just not wear one.
From some of the attitudes I saw, I'd say @GrappleCy is right on.
Some are just getting back to normal, but there's no way the unmasked folks are wearing them somewhere else.
I hope they at least tipped well?
I thought success was slowing the spread enough that the healthcare system isn't overrun, since pretty much all experts agree we can't eradicate the virus, so we're stuck living with it until a vaccine comes, if it comes. I think we've been successful so far, hopefully it remains that way.True although it's not encouraging if they're reopening while increasing in cases.
That's not what I'd call a 'success story' but the definition of such things is pretty loose these days.

I'm hoping we can also get enough tests that people like the gentleman in Marshalltown aren't rejected for medical care.I thought success was slowing the spread enough that the healthcare system isn't overrun, since pretty much all experts agree we can't eradicate the virus, so we're stuck living with it until a vaccine comes, if it comes. I don’t think PPE is that hard to get at this point. I haven’t even heard any doctors complain about lower PPE levels than what they think they should have for the past couple of weeks.Anything I've seen is that PPEs are still short in many places, so there's still not a preparedness equipment wise.
If it explodes to a place where the healthcare system is physically overrun or capped out, will people be willing to shut down again?
If vacation spots in rural areas have big outbreaks vs. their very limited capacity healthcare centers, what then?
This is all hypothetical--but is there a plan for these situations? Is testing catching up with work conditions?

I'm hoping that we learn what treatments work and what treatments do not work, such as ventilators and other viral drugs.
I'm hoping we get our testing and tracing ability up to where we need it.
Is any of this going to sink in?
Sounds like someone hates Ashton Kutcher.
