That book was so well-done I couldn't finish it. It was just too overwhelmingly depressing.

Liked the movie. Bit cheesy compared to the book/subject matter but good.

There's a new adaptation of the TV series coming in 2020.

"Pandemic" I think it's called. I believe it talks about SARS.

Pretty crazy and scary how it spreads. Just a matter of time before one takes out a significant number of people it seems.

No, the guy did go right in to get checked out when he started getting symptoms because he had been in that area of China for some time. They were praising him for doing all the right things. They don't think this strain is transmitted by casual contact so they aren't terribly worried...yet.
