Just listened to the latest edition of my Buckeye podcast. The 247 cfb recruiting coordinator was on and he thinks he’s going to flip and that’s not based on a guess.

Campbell told him he's going to be at ArkansasMichiganStateFloridaState University next season.

sure. then why not wait and talk to OSU to see if they're gonna offer?

He probably did. OSU didn’t offer until they missed on some other kids.

It’s god damn amazing Campbell has hung onto the kid this long. Good luck at OSU

This is not a good thing. Losing a kid near the early signing day means if you really needed to fill that spot now you are way behind. This is what happens to the Hawks in basketball and they have to then go take a flier on a center from England. I would rather he would have left as soon as the offer was made. I wonder if it was even committable at that time?

It's quite a bit different filling 1 spot in a class of 20 vs 1 spot in a class of 3 or 4. Obviously not an immediate, dire need spot for next year either.

I understand we are not turning into the Hawkeye basketball team but my point still stands. You would rather lose a recruit early than late.

Losing him sucks but it is one position where we can handle losing a kid. Breece and Brock have that spot pretty well covered for a few years. So we can take either a flyer on a project running back or we can just hope we get a good one next season. Losing a good player is never a good thing though.

I don’t disagree, but a good coaching staff always has a plan. I’m sure Campbell has a plan B and if it doesn’t work out in this class, there’s the next class.

Losing an Ohio kid to OSU is nothing to be super upset about

There are a lot of dynamics at play as well. They could be in a “whomever commits first” situation with their 3 current targets. Miyan, the GT kid and one other kid I can’t remember. Maybe strouds teammate?

Yet here I am upset. I know, its tOSU, but if Miyan is what his tape shows him to be the legacy and impact he would have at ISU would far outstrip what he will do as a specialist at Ohio State. I think that's our one selling point in this fight.
