Wow, Iowa fulfilling their ******* stereotype. The band director sent the band the wrong way to troll the ISU crowd with the Iowa fight song. **** heads were looking for trouble, lol.
After watching the video, Iowa needs to take a huge chunk of blame here. The marching band leader who ignored the request to exit out the east side, should be fired.
In the video, you can clearly see ISU fans trying to move out of the way. A lane opened up for them as soon as they got to the top of the ramp.
So I'm up to date, their band enters an already congested area, plays their instruments, swings their instruments back and forth-- all against the clearly stated direction of the Iowa State Athletics Department who advised them to leave through a less congested exit-- and at this point the University of Iowa has only determined that they were "accosted"?

Holy ****, kxno really trying to justify why ia band did what they did even after the presser. I knew I hadn't been listening for months for a reason, think Ill go back to not listening immediately.
Yep, and you can see someone at the front waving their arms to direct them right into the crowd. If that's the director doing that, he has even more to answer for than we thought. Might be a student director, though.
I hope @ChrisMWilliams talks about that tweet he put up of my thread and takes my side on how we could have avoided this and how we could avoid this in the future. Do it for safety Chris. #EndBandAlltogether.
And if a swinging trumpet hit someone in the head in that can of sardines, I would applaud the person who got hit for chucking that trumpet into the mud in the construction site.
WTF Iowa! We finally get this rivalry game on a national stage with Gameday and all this is doing is pissing away all the great coverage this game got. We even had another great story with Carson King raising over $1 million dollars for the children's hospital all from a silly sign he made about Busch Light and now all the media attention is going to this band incident that no one has had the balls to step forward and file a formal complaint to be investigated. Where's Aaron Brilbeck when you need him to start knocking on doors and waiting in parking lots to put people on the spot to get to the bottom of the story?
Pollard and the ISU Police practically were begging people to come forward today so they can look into the allegations some more so if this really is as bad as some are making it out to be why hasn't anyone come forward, gone on record with their name and gotten in front of a TV camera to share their story? Not once did I heard Pollard or anyone associated with ISU today deny that anything happened and Pollard himself even said he thinks something probably did but they presented the FACTS and until someone comes forwards with more specifics and facts with these allegations what else can they really say or do?
The thing about all of this is JP knew this all along and was trying to be nice to Iowa by giving them outs....when they kept pissing all over themselves time after time after time he finally responds with facts.
I hate Iowa, but I hope you're joking, those are probably normal motions they do when the fight song is played. You really think all the sousaphones were making a synchronized attempt at hitting our fans?
Murph and Andy just keep looking for ways to make this possibly the fans fault. Can't listen anymore. I'll turn it back on at 4pm. Murph is usually pretty even keeled but perhaps just isn't cynical enough.
Not to mention the band forcing there way through the crowd that was already there, blocking the exit, being intentionally obnoxious while doing so, after that crowd just spent 6 hours sitting in the stadium and another 20-30 minutes trying to leave. I can see why some fans were confrontational. I was there and it was loud/obnoxious as f***..
Unfortunately people in our culture (from various ideologies) seem to be modeling this type of behavior all the time: Manufacturing lies about how they were a victim and then seeking revenge on the supposed "perp(s)." They then get a mob behind them to scream "bloody murder" and drag the supposed "perps," and anyone associated with the accused, through the mud. Unfortunately, these people are unfamiliar with the "Boy who cried wolf" story. A negative consequence of this? - When those with actual crimes committed against them "raise their voice," they may not be believed.
Again, I am not saying that there wasn't any poor behavior by ISU fans, but how this was handled by the "so-called" victims smack of another Jussie Smollett type of situation. It seems that our society needs to be re-educated on how to extend common decency to people (even people we may disagree with), and how to corroborate sources & think critically about information that is disseminated.
