Purdy being mentioned with the nations elite after his true freshman season. I'll be excited to see what he can do as an upperclassmen with a vastly improved offensive line and seasoned skill players like Hall, Brock, Kolar, Milton, Scates.

Rewatch the OSU game some time. Purdy had 5 or 6 great throws in his first game. His WRs did a great job of coming down with the ball, but he had a lot of them that were where he guys could only get them. He had one INT, but the DB was hanging all over the receiver and should have been called for holding or PI.

Purdy nice.

Yeeeeahhhh.....last season called. They'd like their Purdy "play on words" line back.

At this point you are in "dad joke's" territory...which is fine. Just need to be sure you are comfortable knowing that you are operating in that territory at this point before continuing.

To be fair, he did get bailed out a few times times. But there were also plenty of throws downfield where he put it right on the money. He likes the deep ball, and if he has time to throw it, it usually works.
The TD throw to Jones that split two defenders against West Virginia. Daddy like.

I’m so tired of even our own media talking about how Purdy just chucked the ball up into the air, eyes closed, and prayed Butler would get it..really tired.

You don’t throw for a ncaa freshman efficiency record by just throwing to one guy and heaving the ball into the air.

People will see this year.. Purdy is deadly accurate.

This is what I noted again and again last year. His "bad throws" were balls placed where either his covered receiver makes a great catch or no one does. Instead of throwing it away he often throws a "bad" throw to his receiver so there is still a chance for a play but if the receiver can't catch it is an incompletion not a pick.

The pass to Jones in the back of the endzone against Baylor (?) comes to mind. In his 5th game as a TRUE FRESHMAN.

Just look at Brock's first TD to Butler in the Okie State game. While scrambling, he throws an absolute dime 25 yards down field to where only Butler could get it on the sideline.

Also had one to Milton down the middle of the field against OSU (not the TD) that looked like Milton barely had to move his hands while having a defender all over him.

He underthrows here and there because he waits until the last second to get rid of the ball or throws across the field against pressure to an open receiver.

I'd say something like 25-50 percent of P5 quarterbacks have at least one NFL caliber receiver on their team. This notion that Purdy numbers were inflated due to Butler doesn't stand up when being compared to the similar luxuries most quarterbacks of good teams share.

Yet their numbers are worse. Even much worse.
