Yeah I get not wanting to recruit again but he would be a home run there.
Theres a lot of guys that recruiting is a little easier for at least and Donovan is one of those guys I think. Still plenty of frustrations but he would def do well.

Wonder if Michigan offers the assistant that is a defensive specialist the job?
Yep, I'd be surprised if Coach Yak isn't at least named interim coach. Would be easy continuity as he was the "head coach" for their defense which was a major part of their success the past couple years.

Whoever brought up Stevens might be onto something.

Boston went from dynasty in the waiting to hot mess, no way things aren't shook up.

Dream job! Cause Johnny coached there! LOL

Good one. And I wouldn't be surprised to see Fred use it. Would rank right up there with the airline magazine article telling him it was a sign to go to Lincoln.

Especially after Stevens mentioned how he didn't do a good job and sounded deflated after the last loss. They were clear cut favor to win the East to start the year and the team never showed signs of that happening.

Hes also the head recruiter for Zeb Jackson and a few others in particular.

I have to think G. Marshall would be a pretty high target and he'd do well there.
This is another good situation you'd think. Its a great job and could come down to top 2-3 names and then taking a chance on Coach Yak

I could see Michigan putting a full court press on for Beard. The Detroit News has him as a likely candidate along with others like Brad Stevens, Billy Donovan, Jay Wright (interesting)

I don't see Stevens or Donovan as options, even though all college fans want them back in the NCAA's. They left college to be pro coaches and have no indication they want back with the restrictions NCAA rules and recruiting. Neither will be fired have full support of their GM's and not leaving their current contracts (likely for paycuts) IMO.

Well...no one can say they aren't aiming high if that is actually their list of main targets.

Agreed...not sure on Stevens or Donovan, but Beard's buyout is North of $10M. That's steep, even for Michigan...and then you are paying Beard at least $5M a year.

Yup no chance they are paying that considering the new updated contract and buyout he got. There will be other coaches out there that will make a lot of sense for the money. Now is the time they'll really spend money you'd think knowing they don't want to go back to the Brian Ellerbe days.

I don't think so. He's been kind of angling to get out of Wichita for a few years and no one has bitten. He's also kind of an *******.
