Did Fred ever go a season without someone transferring out? He had plenty of swings and misses. A lot kids left the program when he was here. 9 guys he recruited that never had an impact at ISU.

11-12 McKnight, Phillips
12-13 Sledge
13-14 Okoro
14-15 Gibson, Bluford
15-16 SDW

Custer and The Greek also left after Fred announced he was leaving.

I wrote my post with tongue firmly implanted in cheek(s). I won't say whose.

Are we just rewriting history now?

Percy Gibson was a goddamn transformational player for this program and I will not have his name besmirched.

Why is this in the Men's basketball forum? Should go in general college sports. If somebody gives a crap about Nebraska basketball that's the place to follow it.

Why is this a thread on cyclonefanatic? Are we trying to get that kid to transfer here? Only reason why this thread might be relevant, but guessing he probably sucks since he was asked to leave at Nebraska. Hard pass.

Final accounting exam at Nebraska - Lincoln, presumably 1st or 2nd year:
1. How many kernels of corn in a bushel basket full?
2. How much will a Nebraska farmer, working irrigated land, lose per bushel of corn kernels?
3. Is that a debit or credit?
4. How much does Fred Hoiberg get paid in the time it takes to ask a player to not return?
5. Is that a debit or credit?

They may not be eligible right away but do they not get a scholarship to sit out a year? Give that perk to any kid I may have.

I don't see it as a big deal. Every player on a team that gets a new coach has to realize the new guy might not want you there. Yeah, maybe the timing sucked, but Fred does have a job to do, and he might as well get started. Players can go into the transfer protocol, or declare for the draft and mess up a team whenever they want.

When people say, "this can't help in recruiting" i immediately think of the hot girl from another school who people told you was a bit crazy/dumb/whatever. sure, she may be, but did that make you desire her any less? probably not.

Got one of my best HS school scores ever off of that exact situation.
