Taco Time closing in Ames at the end of March

I would be upset, but we went last year and it was not very good. Quality is way down from when I would go in high school and college.

Crisp meat burritos are awesome. Sad to see it go as it was my go-to every time we got up to Ames. Growing up in Ogden, I was sad when the Boone TT closed but this is far worse as it has a much longer running connection for us as we moved ever closer toward the Metro over the past 20 years.

Ha, I remember those as my fav from back in the early 1970's. Used to order the bean, probably to save a few pennies.

Didn't know it was still there and operating. Pretty much nothing other than Hickory Park still is and they were in some little dump of a building out west on Lincoln Way IIRC.

I would hit TT on occasion to remedy a hangover. (Definitely did more harm than good there.) Once the first El Azteca showed up out by 20 I never went back. There's very little that can compare to El Azteca in the Mexican food category IMO.

The only grosser places in town were the 2 KFC's. The one by the mall was a joke, the one on Lincoln way was doing its best to catch up at the end.
