Do you have a side hustle? Have you ever? What is it, and what do you do?

I do photography on the side of my regular job. It's purely for fun, and it makes some money - it also allows me to be selective about what types of jobs I take.

What do you have?

Back in the day I used to bus tables and have thought about getting back into that. I'd only want a night or two a week though. Made good money without having to talk to people.

Also considered trying to be a cart-gatherer at Costco. Same sort of deal.

My side hustle of napping and playing video games is thus far not very lucrative, I'm hopeful for the future though.

if there's ever a way to make money from napping, let me know. I thought I was a pro before baby but I've leveled up since then. All my sleep is in nap form now.

I'm way too lazy but a guy I know does a few shifts a week flagging planes at the airport at like 2 am before his day job. Says he does it because he gets free flights anywhere out of it.

For a while I did perc testing for septic field installations. My father was originally doing them but I sort of took over the practice for him. Just mostly in Scott County. You needed to be a registered PE in the state of IA, which we both were.

More lately I've become a very part time flea marketer. Was doing 5 shows a year. Now down to just 3 - at What Cheer. It's a lot of work and not a lot of $$$. I like to think of it as a weekend camping with the addition of making a few $$$. Also sometimes find stuff for my own collection(s).

I do construction work on the side. I built a $16,000 deck a few summers ago.....mostly decks and stuff, but also have remodeled basements, replaced doors and windows, etc. It's fun doing something when you can look back at the end of the day and actually see what you've accomplished.

I umpire High School and slow pitch softball. Though thinking about cutting way back on HS, parents and coaches are miserable.

Nice to get out of the house in the summer and adds some 'fun money' to the budget.

I have one rental property. I would like to get more in the future and am thinking of refinancing my current property to get some cash out of it. Since I bought the house in 2014, I have redone the bathroom, wood floors, paint, kitchen, dining room, basically remodeled the whole thing while I lived there, and in November of last year, got my first tenant. So I have some equity in the house that I can pull out and hopefully be on the hunt again.

I've also done some HS baseball umpiring the past couple summers but I think I'm taking this summer off. Not bad money but like @1UNI2ISU said, parents yelling at you every play just gets old. 95% of coaches are great. 95% of parents are terrible (probably an exaggeration but you get the point)

I will be coaching tennis this spring and should have a kid that goes pretty far at state so that'll be fun

One of the reasons I do mostly youth softball is because the competitiveness and arguing ramps up so much with high schoolers. The parents are usually the worst, but it's always the child of the worst parents that has learned the same behaviors.

Younger ages I can explain my call and give them constructive advice and they usually listen to it. Some coaches can be jerks, but most of the time they understand what I'm calling and why.

It helps that I am pretty consistent. I've been doing it for 20 years so I'm used to any argument I come across.
