That certainly looks impressive top to bottom, but wouldn’t this be similar across all the P5 (& Big East) conferences? Patrick Ewing @ Georgetown would be the first name I could think of at the bottom of the list using the criteria above, but do you think he’s the worst coach in the Big East? Even if it doesn’t work out at Georgetown he’s going to be a candidate for NBA jobs for the next couple of seasons.

One can draw conclusions however one chooses about this data. It's just a set of facts that may or may not be interesting to readers.

Another interesting thing is Huggins at #2 despite not having any Big 12 regular season or conference tournament titles, and almost 200 more wins than Self. The inevitable 30 for 30 on Huggins is going to be fascinating.

How can Smart be anything but last? Does any coach do less with what they have? He's 50-50 at UT despite a top 20 and two top 10 recruiting classes.
The list is about facts, not observations, albeit I agree with your premise. He's like the basketball version of Charlie Strong.

Ajcksu82 posted the original data. I always try to credit people who bring interesting stuff - not into plagiarism.

He's a .500 coach at the p5 level despite having highly ranked recruiting classes. Are those not facts?

Rearrange Drew, Weber and Dixon and you have a list of who has been around the Big 12 the longest. Congrats on that.

Who the **** counts an elite 8 and final 4 from the same tourney? Bruuuuuuuce has 1 Final Four and 1 Elite Eight, Shaka has 1 Final Four, Lon has 2 Final Fours and 1 Elite Eight, and so on.

E8's are noteworthy in and of themselves. Does ISU hang E8 banners? Can't make the F4 without. I'm not sure why you're angry.

ISU hangs a banner for the furthest point made in a tournament. An Elite 8 appearance implies the team had both a Sweet 16 and tournament berth. Also, not angry it's just a dumb way to denote accomplishments

Looks to me like Mr. acjksu82 just posted the list in how many games each coach has won order and then moved Self from #2 to #1. Not a whole lot of research into that list. Like someone else said, basically has them ranked based on who has been around the longest. Dumb thread from Surly, per usual
