I am too lazy to do the math and I don't know the number of teams in some of the conferences off the top of my head.

Big 12 would have 2 drafted per team in the conference. SEC would have 3.79 per team in the conference. B1G would be 2.36 per team. PAC12 at 2.5.
That makes a bit more sense than total per conference given the differing number of teams.

Still not a great number

Texas is going to have to get good again before the Big 12 starts getting more recognition in my opinion. Not sure why kids are picking TAMU over them....apparently they want to go be mediocre in the SEC.

Median seems like a weird way to look at it. I get that it's a measure that isn't affected by the size of the conference, but I think that if one really wanted to they could come up with a better measure in a couple hours. I'd use a trade value chart, multiply each pick by it's trade chart value, and then divide by the number of teams in the conference to start.

Median makes sense to me because it speaks to the quality of talent. Total speaks to the depth of same within a conference. All this says is that the Big12 made progress over last year.
