He would have been a great addition to this years team, but he takes a roster spot away from one of the best HS recruiting classes we've ever landed. We knew this season was going to be rough, but things look to be trending better next season. I think this worked out well for everyone.

Hindsight, I think they would’ve played well together.

Yes and it was the right call. McNeil was committed and the staff wasn't taking 3 PG/Combo guards in the same class.
We have to remember context, McNeil asked out of his LOI in the summer so why it would be nice to have an additional ball handler (especially with NWB injury) the staff didn't have the need to June. No many options that late to add a contributor.
If McNeil wouldn't have committed early, then it is a good possibility Wright would have taken that roster spot and we would be watching that back court. Then likely Haliburton wouldn't be coming in next year... Lot of what ifs.
