It’s very good. I’m a sucker for fried chicken, socom food. Their chicken waffles are amazing.

We're going for my birthday later this month. So far, I'm eyeballing the fried chicken - although it looks like a HUGE plate. It comes with mashed potatoes AND two sides. (I'm debating pimento mac and cheese and asparagus.) I think I'd take home at least 2/3 of it!

If you don't like southern comfort/heavy meals, I would not recommend it. That being said, it's called Bubba's for a reason. My favorite part about the place is the decorations and ambience. Get a drink beforehand at the bar/waiting room. It's pretty sweet. We went the first month it opened and the service was terrible, however when we went back a few months later it was much better.

The thing that bothers me about the bacon jethros is that they dont have waffle fries there. Only jethros without them. Dumb choice.

Amen brother. The in laws love ordering from there as it's the closest one to Windsor Heights where they stay. They Also don't have tater-tot casserole either which is great.

What side did you get? The pimento mac and cheese intrigues me. But so does the fried chicken.
Fried chicken as a side?!?!? J/K

Coming back from Liberty Bowl and stop at a Loves in the Arky area on the drive back up. I’m checking out at the counter and an ISU fan comes in to pay for gas and looks into the Chester’s area and goes “Damn a mountain of fried chicken all ready to go before 8am? I know I’m in the South when I see that!”

LOL - sorry, I should have explained that a bit better! I was thinking about mac and cheese as either my main dish or as a side to the fried chicken! I worded that really weird.

Did they have a pile of waffles next to the fried chicken, at least?

I think waffle.......fries.

I’m not kidding you, there was a legit 50, 60 pieces in there.
The Chester’s was a connection to an Ihop fast serve.

That is nuts. I can't even eat regular pizza (non-breakfast) in the morning, so fried chicken for breakfast has always fascinated me.

I've never heard of an Ihop fast serve - what a great idea!

Just read that Rock Bottom in WDM is closing next month.

When I used to travel all of the time for work, Rock Bottom was a place that I'd hit fairly regularly because it was consistent, and decent. But, I've come to realize that while it was consistent, it was consistently average at best. Maybe I'm more adventurous now, but if I went on a trip to a new city, and I ate at a Rock Bottom, I'd feel like I'd wasted my time.

I stand by what I said. Enjoy your flavorless, bland "tacos".

Flavorless and bland are not how I would describe Tasty Tacos.

If you are more of a hard shell taco traditionalist I highly recommend Taco Casa over on Douglas & MLK.

I'm not. I just think there are several options in the metro that are way, way better. Tacos Marianas, Tacos la Familia, and Tacos Andreas for starters. And I would also put Tacopocalypse ahead of Tasty. I just don't like it. And I don't get the local fascination with it.

Rancho Alegre on SE 14th and Indianola. Fresh, authentic Mexican.
