Brent made a really solid point last night on Twitter. Undefeated Iowa has over 4,000 tickets remaining for a nationally televised prime time game against a top 5 team in the country. 4,000!

It's really not that hard to understand. Iowa fans have been gouged by the ticket office for years and the fringe fans aren't spending the money to go to games. Iowa won't even let a baby in the game without a ticket! Think of what it would cost a family of 4 to go to a game.

Not surprised. Large portion of their fan base is over 65, and older people tend to have night vision issues. Half of the Hok fans will struggle to get out of their food service industry shift on a Saturday Night. And then there are those that are staying home and saving their money for the lead pipe cinch lock of a January Bowl game.

I'm surprised they have sold that many tickets.

But they'll pony up to buy tickets for the ISU game. Tickets were $80-$85 face value last year for the game in Kinnick IIRC and you can get second row tickets on Stubhub for $72 right now.

I heard on the radio that the price point for this game is $95 (compared to something like $40 for the North Texas game). That is a lot of money to spend for a ticket in the nose bleed sections of the stadium.

Another tidbit of info. Heard through the grapevine that there is talk about the Hawkeyes add some sort of an end zone type club now. Hmmm... wonder where they got that idea!!

I've only missed 2 Iowa State games in Iowa City over the last 13 years and I can assure you that there are a ton of Iowa State fans buying those tickets too. I wasn't there last year but in 2012 and 2014 the number of Clone fans in Historic had to be somewhat sickening for Iowa fans...

So they need to rely on ISU fans to sell out Kinnick? That actually makes sense.

Ok this is just stupid. How many of our fans travel to Iowa City compared to Ped State fans? You will lap up anything put in your bowl won't you.
