From yesterday's practice report:
DB Kennard Banks: Series 1: laid out a big time hit, knocking a wide receiver out of bounds just inside the first down marker for force a 4th and 1. Series 5: jumped a pass in the flat to nearly have a interception for a TD, broke up a pass and blew up another receiver to force another fourth down. Series 7: teamed up with LB Michael Bibbs for a tackle-for-a-loss. Series 9: made his third big hit of the day on a WR in the flat to force another fourth down.

He's clutch -- forced 3 4th downs!

Hope continues to impress and has a huge impact come game days...

I wonder if he'll be able to fill a need for us at safety?

Sounds like Steve Paris nasty to me!

He's got some guns too. I just hope he gets on the field. Maybe he can fill in for Brown when he's injured? I just hope he continues to push the guys that were here last year.

He seems to be lining up at Corner, so I wonder if he will be pushing for a job there. Notice you haven't really heard about singleton or Bell in the practice reports.

I am pretty sure he is a corner. If he is a safety than there is no doubt he starts. Even when Brown comes back, he still starts ahead of him

He is a corner, and he is ahead of Allen Bell.

Agh Stevie Paris - I interviewed him after the game he took an INT to the house and I stumbled with each question as I could only stare at all of his gold teeth. He was a solid player and hopefully Banks will help us as well.

Off the grid
Banks will play at CB and start IMO.

If so, State should have a good to great secondary this season.

Singleton & Banks starting with Bell & McDowell the next two of the bench. This should allow for all of the freshmen to redshirt if everyone stays healthy. (fingers crossed)

maybe we'll play a lot of nickel and they can all play. I'd like to see him at safety, only cause CB is a little deeper position right now than S.

in 2005 our defense was stellar and jackson hicks moser and paris made that defense.

also if banks is going to be starting at cb, i wonder if bell could move to safety? a defensive backfield of singleton banks bell and smith would be pretty sweet.
