MLB: Most memorable baseball game you've attended?

The Yankees coming to Wrigley this weekend reminds me of the most memorable baseball game I've attended when the Yankees came to Wrigley for the first time in forever back in 2003. With the excitement around the Cubs that year, the atmosphere was electric. But the pitching matchup put this game over the top: Kerry Wood vs. Roger Clemens, and I believe Clemens was going for a milestone win. My buddy and I (ISU seniors at the time) were offered $1,200 for our pair of tickets. We went through the gates.

It was the pitching dual most expected until the late innings. Our seats were on the 1B side, tucked under the upper deck. I had to crouch slightly to see Karros' go-ahead 3-run homer clear the LF wall. The place went nuts. Remlinger had a key strikeout in the 8th after he relieved Wood, against Giambi, I believe.

A few of my most memorable are:

1. In STL: Cardinals win on a walk off grand slam by Aaron Miles in the 9th.

2. Ken Griffey Jrs 500th home run in STL.

3. In Minneapolis, Yankees go back to back to back HRs while I'm at the concession stand watching it on the tv.

A few in StL. Dodgers fan here, i caught a Delino Deshields foul ball behind 3rd base dugout. Been to one playoff game in late 90s. Braves at Cards. Was at Dodgers vs Cards game when McGwire hit #1 on way to breaking the record

Game 6 1991 world series. Most famous game in twins history. Still have the ticket stubs.

Now I've only been to about 10 MLB games, but my most memorable game was probably July 4th, 2010. Reds 14, Cubs 3. There were plenty of "fireworks" that day as there were 9 home runs (7 by the Reds, and 3 of those by Drew Stubbs). It wasn't exactly the outcome I was hoping for, but it was memorable.

When I was a kid, we went to a Royals game. Danny Tartabull hung dong 3 times, and Rickey Henderson got picked off 2nd, it was great.

2nd place is a dead heat between Cubs-White Sox in Wrigley and an I-Cubs game where Jose Paniagua went nuts due to a between innings stunt, got kicked out, and started throwing bats and other equipment out of the clubhouse.

Ive been to many, many games but they all kind of blur together. Same thing happens with cyclone football games (okie state excluded). It's neat you guys can remember specifics about games from years ago.

#1: August 22, 1968, Yankees versus the Twins at the old Met. Mantle homered late off of Jim Merritt who pitched a 2-hitter. Mantles last plate appearance in Minnesota. I was a HUGE Mickey fan so it was BIG deal for me. Even had a Cub Scout scrapbook of newspaper clipping from back in the day.

#2: Game 6 and game 7 of the 1991 World Series in the Metrodome. Puckett walk off and then walk off in the 10th again to win it all with Morris going 10. **** yeah!

#3: Some game in the late 1970's at the old Met against the Yankees. Reggie Jackson hit a foul ball behind the third base box seats where we were. Cheap ass stadium, the seats were folding metal chairs. Chairs went tumbling over as this scrum of dudes fought for the ball. Out of the bottom of the scrum rolled the ball. My girlfriend just reached down and picked it up much to the chagrin of the scrum. She was a Yankee fan so that was cool. Still remember the look she gave them and the look she got back from them. Priceless.

Honorable mention: 1985 All-Star game with Nolan Ryan knocking down Dave Winfield. Woof! And that AL lineup (even though they lost) seven Hall of Famers.

****. Remember that because I had a standing token $1 a game bet with White Sox fan I worked with. He, of course, framed that dollar with the game story and hung it up in his cube.

1) Scalped tickets to Game 2 of the 1985 world series in KC with my dad. Bombed a Psych test the next day.

2) Cards vs Reds, 2005. Cards trail 9-3 after 8. My dad, my son, and I leave to get my son home because he has school the next day. Cards rally with 7 runs in the 9th to win 10-9 as we listen in the car on they way home.

3) 1996 opening day in Cincinnati. Umpire John McSherry collapses and dies on the field right before the first pitch of the game.

Easily the best game for me was Jack Morris' 1-0 gem in the '91 World Series. My favorite team wins one the best games in World Series history and I won $1000 on a Vegas bet to top it off.

I was a this one:

Most impressive game was a Cactus League Mariners game.
Ichiro legs out a triple, single then steals second, and in about the 5th absolutely gunned down a guy on a cannon of a throw. Coach took him out of the game and he walks off the field to a standing ovation. I had never seen someone play that hard.

Aug 96 back in the Blake Street Bombers days I saw Dante Bichette hit a walk off homer in the 13th to beat the Cardinals.

Nothing memorable about the game but I went to the Old Comiskey and saw Skinny Sammy Sosa commit a crucial error on a grounder...circa 1991ish?

Another otherwise meaningless game but interesting was seeing Daryl Strawberry hit two HR's in 1992 in his stint with the Dodgers.

I've heard stories that he would do immature stuff like stick his tongue out at fans from his outfield spot between outs and such.
