No they could both go, but there are so many auto-bids for the NIT that there are only a handful of at-larges.
I think there were something like 10 automatic bids in a field of 32 so 22 at large. Surprised Iowa was basically in the first 4 out even after getting whipped by IU in the first round of the Big10 Tourney.

10-8, they also beat Indiana a couple weeks ago. Indiana didnt beat anybody since December.
They beat MSU, who is somehow a 9 seed based on the strength of their win over PedoSt in the B1G tourney, and NW who is also a tournament team. On a neutral court they absolutely mauled Iowa as well, and that was what, a day ago? I think anyone would pick Indiana over Iowa in an NIT matchup.
