If a player up for an award for the best center in the country is pushed to guard by an underclassman, I think most people would look at that as a testament to the ability of said underclassman.

Welsh didn't even play center last year. Welsh was going to be on the list at either guard or center, the voters thought he'd play center so that's why he was on that watch list. Both are good players but I don't think Welsh being on any list proves anything about Daniels' talent

I like to use preseason accomplishments as justification for predictions/evaluations of individual player's talent. Just like you. :D

And Daniels did not receive any preseason recognition at guard where he was projected to start

You're not as good at trolling as AltHawk but I appreciate the effort
Come on Twins, I've always thought we have had maintained a level of civility when conversing on this forum. I'm not trolling I'm stating an opinion. I don't take the internet that seriously.

If you're not trolling then you don't understand that Welsh getting preseason recognition has nothing to do with Daniels' ability. I thought that was pretty clear considering they just threw Welsh on a watch list thinking that is where he would end up. If Daniels can be as good as Blythe which is very possible you guys are set at Center for a while. I do agree, you are one of the better Hawkeye posters on here though even if you did vote for Uthoff as the Wooden Award Winner

Why does that matter?

Its not all Hawkeye fans posting in that thread.

Is there anyone that seriously said Lanning over Beathard? If they did they are just as dumb as people that think Iowa's backup RB is better than Warren

Montgomery >>>>>

I actually agree with this. I know you can't put Montgomery ahead of Warren or Wadley right now because Montgomery has about 3 carries or something like that, but I do believe Montgomery will be better than both of them before he's done at ISU.

Gotta love this week. ISU fans arguing passionately that 3 or 4 players would be in Iowa's starting 22 + specialists (which is basically admitting we suck) and Iowa fans arguing every one of them other than Lazard.

Canzeri was a very good college RB. He's playing pro ball in Japan actually. Just because he didn't have the skill set to play on Sundays, (many undersized RB's don't) doesn't diminish what he accomplished last year. 984 rushing yards with 12 rushing touchdowns last year, all while missing 2 games due to injury. Those stats aren't too shabby.

Oh rivalry week, never change.

Is it pro Pokemon?

Correct, although I think there are some Hawk fans that don't think Lazard would even start at Iowa either.

The fact is, if you put together an "all star" team with Iowa and ISU's rosters, 75-80% of the starting team would be Iowa players.

Warren's also racking up stats against pretty atrocious rush D's.

Only to people who can't do math. If you think the Big 12 has worse athletes on D than the Big 12 you're simply wrong. Hate to say this but especially if you subtract ISU, KU and KSU.

You have to look at averages, not totals, when one conference tries to run as many plays as possible and the other tries to bleed the clock dry (especially the plodding B10W). Warren's averages per play were very good.
