Only one question: will we still be able to create polls?

Yes. At least I assume they'll leave it turned on. I was messing around with the demo and it was built right into the thread creation functionallity. I'd post a screen shot but I'm not sure how...HA!

Added bonus, we can weed out some of those crotchety old folks that won't be able to figure out the new system.

Just you wait, Henry Higgins! Just you wait!

Yeah we will have a brand new app too. Eventually...Gotta walk before we can run. Hoping the mobile site will be so good you won't even need an app.

What's being added? Other than not being able to "like" posts the mobile site is already very functional.

Will the website be able to handle the inevitable mega thread during the next round of conference realignment?

probably ads, they arent making any money on the mobile site right now if you havent noticed.

Ill be glad to see a new mobile site that has a few more features even if it has ads, hopefully no video ads though.

Not sure what all is involved here, but saying that Hawkeye Nation is already using the other platform is not encouraging . . . and not just because they are Hoks. I find their site cumbersome. For instance, it is awkward to enter discussions to read new posts. The ease for doing this on the current CF site is a big part of what makes it so addicting.

Can I use the Tapatalk app to access the CF forums? That app is the best way to navigate forums on mobile. Would love to see that!

I will get into details at a later time but along with our tech team (Sam, Jeremy, etc.), we have decided to switch our forum software to XenForo when the new site launches this summer.

A few quick details (as I want you all to be well aware of what is happening before it happens):

--- None of your information on the current forum will be lost. Everything (posts, history, PM's, etc) is transferrable.

--- There are two main reasons for us doing this. The first is that we want the site to be 100 percent mobile. The switch will allow us to do this. The second is that V-Bulletin has really gone downhill over the years. It is no longer properly being developed, which means there are security risks with staying here and we can't bring you guys as many cool functions as you deserve.

--- The new forums will have a version of CyBookie!

Just a few things. I know change sucks but we are hiring a specialist to make it as similar to the current version of CF as possible. Trust me, this change will be for the better once you get used to it.

If the new software/version of CF doesn't have the same lagging/freezing/Shockwave crashing issues that this current site has, not only is the change necessary, it's 100% welcome.
