JP ought to say the hell with it and back door a deal with KU, BYU and Boise to join the Pac 12.
The first conference to 16 wins.
Can't see this league taking Memphis, period. Bad academics. City school. Occasional sports. Boring town. And not contiguous either.
Which Big12 state is West Virginia attached to?
Or Iowa.
Which candidates are available that you consider to be superior?

Provo is actually closer. If this has been brought up before, I missed it.
1,100 miles or 1,500 miles, you are flying. So it really doesn't make a lot of difference. I wouldn't put up with the BYU demands. Pac 12 didn't want them for a reason. That is the direction they should go.
What are BYU's demands?

Where does Cinci actually play their football games? There is a football field land locked in the middle of the campus. You can actually see the entire field from many of the buildings around it.
Nippert Stadium seats 35,000. Doesn't seem to be Big 12....

edit. They are going through a renovation that will raise the capacity (including standing room) to 40,000.
Ha - you're funny.
The Pac 12 won't pick up Boise St because junior colleges have better academics than them.
The Pac 12 won't pick up BYU because the liberal institutions, especially Cal and Stanford, have absolutely forbid it.
KU and ISU are viable, as they are academically sound institutions and were discussed the last time major realignment took place. However, it wouldn't be done on it's own - the Pac 12 would probably want 4 academically strong Big 12 teams. Outside of ISU and KU, that pretty much leaves OU and Texas. OU likely doesn't want to go anywhere Texas is going, and Texas doesn't want to go to the Pac 12. But I think OU is more interested in the SEC and Texas is more interested in the ACC.
