Fred did not always do this. The most recent example was BDJ. McKay needs to grow up. He is a senior and I am pretty sure CSP was looking to the seniors for leadership. He has done anything but be a leader. I am sure CSP let it go this long because of our expectations and our lack of depth. If the team as a whole finally took issue with it, it is possible we will play much harder without him. If CSP had suspended McKay in Dec, do you think the team would have supported it.

Fred sat BDJ when he needed to and the team won the Big XII tourney and was a 2-seed.

When and why did things start to go wrong? He paid his own way for a semester to come here, passing up other places who had scholarships. He was deservedly so, the Big 12 defensive player of the year last year. Seemed to put out max effort all the time. I'm trying to think of a basketball player at ISU who did a U-turn like McKay his senior year, can't come up with one. Seems like things had already started to head downhill with the summer trip.
Speculation - when CSP told him his rules on the euro trip. That said, McKay still has better stats than last year, but he does not run the floor much and could perform even better before the ball is shot.

Gotta wait until the the B12 tourney to have that talk with McKay. He could at least give us 100% that B12 tourney weekend, even if the resorts to his antics in the 1st game of the NCAA tourney

We will know in five hours. Deonte Bounceman goes for 20/10.

So he'll be out one game? A little motivation might help him. This could help the entire team. I'm excited to see Burton play a bigger role. I just kinda hope he plays through the offense instead of his 1v1 game, but his offense could really spark this team.

GAMEDAY !!! For my bros I know they will hold it down! #CyclOneNation

Definitely a sign of maturity. It's the first step towards being a great teammate. Thumbs up to you Jameel. Continue to prove everyone wrong. You hold the power.

I like the support for the team, but haven't seen him take ownership of being suspended in all of his social media posts. I guess no apology is better than a fake one.

I think this is the best thing that could have happened. Puts his mind in a better place knowing he has to get the job done, and the team can now relax a little as well.

Re: Not traveling to OSU??

yes I know. you fail to connect the dots however. and you don't know how that shuckster operates. It's an excuse to come back here to show his ugly mug

The next blue chipper here in Iowa high schools will be recruited by Roy, and he can point to Paige, Barnes, Heinrich, Collison...as a reason to consider UNC

and a promise he'll schedule a game here. It's always about Roy.

Good lord, he offered Woodbury just to keeps his ties here active. You really thought Woodbury would of played much for UNC?

In all honesty, I would take Woodbury's hustle, work ethic and "team first" attitude over ANY player we have. You wonder why a team with average talent like Iowa is a top 5 team? Guys like Woodbury.

When did he start proving people wrong? The only people he's proven wrong so far are people that continue to rush to his defense everytime he bashes his coaches or the community on social media, or has a game where he gets frustrated and starts taking plays off.

He's always been close to his teammates. Let's see if he buys into COACHING when he comes back?...or if he continues to pout everytime something doesn't go his way.

Somewhere in the U.S.
To argue that Prohm should have done something sooner is just stupid because none of us know for sure how McKay has been acting in practice or the locker room. All we can see he how he is on the floor and sitting on the sideline, and it is pretty obvious he is injured and frustrated about being injured. If there is a bad attitude toward the team, his teammates or any of the coaching staff.......none of us know that for sure, and none of us know when it might have started. Also, none of us know what Prohm or the other coaches may have done to correct Jameel's attitude or to deal with his frustrations, yet some of us are absolutely certain that this should have been dealt with sooner. Stupid.

Jameel is the one closest to looking like a prima donna in this, not his teammates, or any of the coaching staff, including Prohm.

If we see him back after 1 game following his "indefinite" suspension, I am sure he would have apologized to his teammates and coaches. Not on twitter, either.

Possibly the dumbest post I've ever seen on this site.
