The coach is the leader and has ultimate responsibility for the team. If McKay is a problem, that should have been handled months ago, not in the middle of the conference season. A leader gets people to play for him and makes everyone better. Look at the other guys Fred brought in. Fred got them to come together as teams and they consistently got better as the year went along. This team gets worse every week.
Please, quit putting CFH on such a high pedestal. I love what the guy did for ISU MBB, and that he was able to bring it back to relevance, but too many forget that there were some bad things that happened during his time here too.
I don't know how you can make the statement that CFH's teams got better as the years went along, with last year's team and ultimate failure so fresh in everyone's mind, including the players (at least we hope). To act like CFH handled all player problems well and only formed cohesive teams is to ignore what happened just last year with BDJ. Unless any of us were on that team or in that locker room, we will never know what happened, but obviously it wasn't all good.
To put this on Prohm is just ridiculous with what we know at this point. Yes, if McKay was having issues from day one, then they should have been addressed, but we don't know for sure if that was the case, or what Prohm may have tried to deal with them. We do know that McKay has an injury, is likely frustrated with his play, and that all may contribute to this situation much more than the fact that CFH is no longer the coach. If a player cannot adjust to a new coach, then that is as much on the player as it is on the coach, imho.
It looks to me like McKay is injured, frustrated by what that does to his quality of play, and maybe the struggles of this team, although I would question his true concerns for his team and his teammates in light of his recent behavior. He's a senior. He needs to show some leadership and maturity here, not the coach.
