Darren Jr. freshman highlights:

http://www.hudl.com/athlete/5001311/highlights/327997400/v3

The move he makes at the 1:20 mark... wow!!!

This is a freshman playing against some very good competition! He has very quick feet, nice cuts and really good field vision for his age. Columbus HS has several guys with big time offers (some have ISU offers), yet Darren was the only freshman on the varsity squad. I'm tellin' ya, this kid is going to be special.

That's a good highlight tape for a senior, and worthy of an offer right now. He scoots and cuts so much like his Dad it's hilarious. What a future that kid has, and what a great story it would make if the Cyclones are part of it.

He has offers from us and Notre Dame right now, but once Miami offers it will be tough for us to land him. If anyone has contact with the new staff, Darren said he and Troy are wanting to come up to a game and see the new facilities. Darren was disappointed that CPR never invited him up. How cool would it be to have a new set of Davis brothers in the backfield?

Wow. That's a better highlight tape than most seniors we recruit. He looks just like Troy and Darren. No overwhelming speed but ridiculous cuts and everything else that gets yards.

He doesn't wear the 28 now but if he wanted to when he came to ISU would he get to wear it? That would be so awesome.

This new staff must do all we can to promote the Davis bros and all they did at Isu for sake of the 2018 Davis. Have a feeling kid is going to be one of nations top RBs. Troy just got inducted into HOF and it's about time he and Darren get brought back and pampered a bit.

Coach Campbell, responding to a question on the call-in show a few weeks ago, mentioned bringing TD back to honor him next fall.

Re: 2018 Recruit

Good article, but Larry Crawford was a DB at Iowa State...just helping out not trying to be an azzz
Crawford was good ... I remember him doing an open field tackle on Billy Sims. As I recall, Sims got into the secondary and Crawford was back pedaling with Sims coming toward him and SIMS couldn't fake him out. Saved from a sure TD

Yeah everyone went to see Nerlin Noel and we ended up getting Niang. So yeah sometimes there are players on a 5 stars teams that are way over looked.
McDermott comes to mind. Even his own dad didn't think he was big 12 worthy.

The Davis brothers should be invited back for every game forever.

Listen, I respect Troy and Darren, as Darren was a teammate of mine my first two years. But common man, why do you need to be invited up? Pick up the phone, call the staff, arrange a time, get on the computer, book your travel and come visit. It's really not that hard.

Was the Rhoads staff open and inviting to past players? It looks like Campbell already understands how important past Cyclones are. Campbell was taking Photos with Stevie Johnson and others already.

Yes we were always welcome to visit practices and/or the football facility. Numerous former players received sideline passes for games, all they had to do was call and request them.

Probably right, but when a former player has a son that is a bad ***, then you make accommodations.... ASAP.

Darren Jr is actually class of 2019. I messed up the thread title. I agree he will be a top 10 RB in his class.

Do some schools pick up the airfare tab? Is that what they are waiting for?

McDermott knew he wouldn't last four more years and he didn't want to put his son through his Dad being fired while he was on the team so they agreed he should go elsewhere. Do you really blame him? I wouldn't want my kid to go through that.
