Anyone know of a good place to go hunting for these? I have not started yet - need to get one for a shoot I'm doing next week.

And actually - it need not be sheepskin - just something similar - going for the white/fluffy look obviously.

I was going to start with Target and then look at some fabric stores - any specific recommendations would be appreciated.

My parents got one as a gift from some neighbors that went to New Zealand whan I was in HS.

This won't help you, but I thought I'd mention it, unless of course you can go to New Zealand this weekend.

I'm guessing something around the 6x6 area or larger.

I need it large enough for the model to lay/sit on.

I know of places to look, just didn't know if anyone had recent experience in where to get one.

Only one place: www.sheepskindeals.com

I think they will let you pick out your own sheep for the rug from their pastures, much like selecting your lobster at the restaurant.

ISUFan22, so what exactly is your photo business? Do you do senior or wedding photos, Family photos, or exotic glamor-shots? You say the rug is for 'models', so are you shooting stuff for people to have sample photos to send magazines or whatnot?

It encompass all of what you noted...although being ready for a wedding is a few months away at least.

So far I've worked with models looking to build their portfolios and in hopes to get some of their shots published. I have done a couple family sessions, but they were rather informal as they were friends of ours.

I have a number of gigs lined up this summer, including senior portraits. :)

My first thought was go to the Lions Den (aka porn in the corn) off I-80 by Colfax.
