It's going to be tj. It was tj the day that Matt left.

Not sure why we are bothering with a list.

I don't think it is a good hire for a school who was a top big 12 school the last few years but I do feel sorry for him. Tough to replace a legend.

Hopefully contract act is structured like this:

1. 900,000 5 years

2. Lots of bonus opportunities for results next year. I'm talking big money for winning 25 games, conference, ncaa sweet 16, etc. reward him for winning next year.

3. No extension or raise next year though. Bonuses should be enough since he loves Iowa state so much. And a dog could coach next years team.

4. If he is successful in his second year then he could get raise and extension.

Ya pretty much

He GONE. Chicago wouldn't have let Thibs go without assurances from Fred that he will take the job. Now he's working on the full page newspaper ad saying thanks

If you seriously think Chris gets pushed, nudged, told, or otherwise influenced on who or what to post about, I don’t even have a rebuttal for you. I don’t like to call anybody names or insinuate your IQ is less than some sort of suggested guideline for normal human functioning, but I will flat out say you shouldn’t be on this site if you think it serves in any way as a propaganda pusher.

What you and many fail to understand is that just because you think somebody should be interested in Iowa State, doesn’t mean they actually are. You must not have watched Florida get turned down by many of the same names for far more than we’re going to pony up. This is going to be an interesting wakeup call for many on this forum that think our options are bountiful and limitless. We’ve been turned down by far worse candidates than make up Chris’ list before and we likely will again, especially if the offers that are made are as cheap as normal. With a 70% increase in revenue over the past 5 years, we’re still operating as if this was the 90’s but people have expectations of us being a Top 5 destination program.

The list is watered down intentionally to get us to accept Otz. It's propaganda at its finest.

Yep. No doubt.

Honestly if tj hadn't been shoved down my throat for the last 2 months, I might be more interested in him. But the constant pushing of him and dismissing of every other choice around here makes a person wonder.

And if I have to read one more time about how loyal he is and how much he loves Iowa state..why exactly do we think this? Because he says so, do did hoiberg and it got us 5 years.

Who were the candidates last time around? We're still ISU last I checked. 4 straight NCAA's and a couple B12 Tourney titles doesn't get you a seat at the big boy table.

I don't think we're insinuating that CW is pushing propaganda. More that the AD would leak or release information with the idea of making Otz look like a more acceptable candidate. The people in this thread aren't usually the ones going with that "CW is a propaganda machine" narrative, unless I've missed something. I don't remember that being no1's game (or mine---this is self-serving on my part, too).

Whoever it is, I'm going to rally behind him and hope he's a total stud.

You drunk? Why would I make a list? Like you I don't know **** about who would be realistic candidates for the job. Hence my post.

Then why the hell would u make a comment like that list is underwhelming....if you don't know? Are u basing it off the schools these coaches are at?

and for the last time JSB it's not going to be TJ. I realize that's who u want but it's not happening. If Matt were still here would u be saying its Matts job to lose?

So...are you saying CW is too stupid to know that he's being spoonfed a load of BS from the AD?

Seriously, FU to anyone ever associated with KU. No thanks. Just my humble opinion.

Otzelberger has assurances that he'll be at Iowa State next year...it's just whether it's as head coach or whether it's a stipulation that whoever we hire keeps him on.

TJ knew Fred leaving was possible (if not likely) when he came to 'be an assistant for Fred'. He had to...it was all over the place that Thibs was gone and Fred was a target. If Fred told Diallo he couldn't promise he would be here, what do you think he told TJ?...If TJ thought there was a decent shot of Fred leaving and getting stranded without a job, do you think he would've left Washington?

What Fred promised/told TJ doesn't matter, since Fred Hoiberg won't be the one hiring his successor.
