Huggy had the #1 recruiting class the year he was at KState. By all means, feel free to make fun of him, but we all know we'd love to have Fred recruit HS prep kids with that amount of success. Obviously whatever it is that he does on the recruiting trail is still working. Would likely be frowned upon by his doctors, but maybe Fred needs to up his twinkie game.

Or start drinking heavily.

Surprised as well. Other posts had me believing it was Big10 all the way. We need one of those surprises...a guy they expect to go to certain schools and he instead says ISU. And, no, I don't include Monte in this group because there were other top Michigan guys getting picked up by their instate schools so it wasn't a surprise he went elsewhere. Have we ever had a guy commit to us after it came down to be between us and KU? C'mon Cheick, time to be that guy.

I don't understand how a person would want to play for an as****e like Huggy. And yes, I understand he has a good coaching record and has been successful, but still. especially, when there are winning coaches with personalities like Fred as options

He's a good recruiter because he's a great coach. He's an easy target to make fun of (weight, sweatsuits, so on) but the guy is a flat-out excellent coach and kids who play under him are very lucky.

I respect Coach Huggins more than any other opposing coach in the conference right now. I think he's got a lot of class and is obviously a good coach. I will give you he's the type of guy that if you knew nothing about him and someone showed you a picture of him and said, "What is your instant reaction to this guy" the most likely answer might be *********.

You're right, I don't know him well. He left me with a horrible impression with his postgame presser he gave after ISU beat them last year at home.

Sure hasn't had a lot of success at WVU. I could think of quite a few more coaches I would want my kid to play for that are also excellent coaches.
