I know he's a Panther/Hawk lost soul but I'm still happy to see fellow Iowan Zach Johnson make the Ryder Cup again. I'll be very curious to see who Captain Tom Watson chooses with his three at-large captain's picks. Hopefully the dreadful showing by Tiger this week keeps him off the team.

Johnson and Kuchar are the only two qualifiers with winning records in Ryder Cup. Johnson 6-4-3 and Kuchar 3-2-2.

I actually was a supporter of Tiger up until last year. He's past his prime. Needs to give up the game and become a sex addict counselor.

Kuchar and Dufner are probably out with injuries. So that moves Ryan Moore up to the top 9.

If i were to pick 3 it would be: Keegan, Harris English, and Bradnt Snedker (only if Stricker didn't want to play)

Doesn't really matter the Euro team is going to smoke the US.

When does he have to make the picks? Hunter Mahan has started to pick it up a little but may want to see if that continues before considering him. Also Keegan Bradley played at Gleneagles with Tom Watson earlier this year and has Ryder Cup experience, I would think he will get in and get paired with Phil again.

Snedeker is having a tough year. Keegan failed to make the cutat the PGA. Harris is a small tournament player. Not much left in the cupboard. Tiger has lower back spasms, Dufner has neck problems, Kuchar has back problems. Sounds like last year's oline.

Tiger will not be on the team, and I sure hope he doesn't pick that Aggie Ryan Palmer. He is a pompous ***.

The team above is beat up. Can either Dufner or Kuchar go? I know Snedeker has been battling injuries, as well, but he seems like a good "team" guy. If he's fit, he would be a choice for me if I were in Tom's shoes. Hell, if I was in Tom's shoes, I might just lace them up myself.

Probably be Snedeker, Stricker and Webb Simpson.

EDIT: If Kuchar can't go, Ryan Moore or Bradley.

I follow golf more than the average sports fan (I watch almost every week), but I can't put faces to four of those names. Jimmy Walker, @ #4 I must be watching with my eyes closed more that I think, Patrick Reed, Ryan Moore, Brendon Todd, this seems like a bad sign for our team.

Not if TV is applying pressure to select him to help their ratings.

Yep. If the mucketymucks at NBC Sports want anyone to buy ad time and anyone to watch, Tiger will be on the team. From a competitive standpoint, sure. He'd be an idiot to pick Tiger. But from a dollars and cents standpoint, he'd be an idiot if he didn't pick Tiger.

His best bet is to offer Tiger a spot on the team and hope Woods declines, citing injury.

And yet still could be better than any of our other options. Give him a couple weeks to see if his back starts feeling better.

Tiger shouldn't have even finished the second round this week. I don't think he is a good choice with the injury issue at all.

Ratings for the round yesterday seemed pretty good, and were up quite a bit from last year, and Woods was playing last year.

I'm a casual golf fan, and what will get me to watch the Ryder cup, particulalry on day 2 and day 3, is whether the US has a chance to win. I really don't give a hoot if Woods is there or not.
