Driving 7-8 over on interstate, seatbelt thrown over shoulder, browsing CF and I pass a state trooper in a black car. Pulls me over. I think to myself, I'm screwed no getting out of this with what I did.... Cop pulled me over because the ISU license plate frame is covering the county on the license plate.
Over half the cars i have seek since I can't read their county fully. Musta been a Hawk
Just pony up for the vanity ISU plate - there is no county designation on there, just says "Cyclones" at the bottom. Problem solved! (Assuming the cops can't bust you for covering that up...)
I used to drive 80 on the interstate, but after picking up another speeding ticket in December (my second in 7 months), I've since dropped down to 60 on all highways. I'll never get a speeding ticket doing that, and with the tight funds I operate on, the 15mpg difference between 80 and 60 is huge.
You serious? What are you driving that has a 15mpg difference between 80 and 60?
If I came up on you on the Interstate and you were going 60, I would expect to see an 80 year-old behind the wheel.
For the people who are trying to makes some kind of statement by camping in the left lane, don't be surprised so some day when you do this to the wrong person and they either run you off the road or follow you home.

For those of you complaining about drivers in the left lane: give people time to pass. If I'm passing someone going 60mph, I'm not going to speed up to 90mph, just because you're in a hurry. Tailgating me will only make me slower.
if you live around Des Moines and don't say around 80 you are a liar and you know it.

I-35 in the AM between Ankeny and Ames is the worst. Just about everyone figures as long as they are going 3 over, they are automatically going faster then everyone else and in turn dont ever need to get out of the left lane. There are also people who will get in the left lane, make a pass, see a semi about 1/2 mile ahead, and think "well I'm eventually going to have to pass this semi, so I might as well stay in the left lane"
Its pretty simple...the left lane is used for passing. Once you pass, you get back into the right lane. If everyone did this, traffic flow would be 10x better.
