HOW is it we used to be the leader of the free world?

I didn't realize I could chose not to believe in science (although I quibble with man being the main cause of global warming)... Embarrasing.

I find it amazing that so many people can't find room for their faith within science. I don't think science has to eliminate faith nor does faith have to eliminate science unless you are totally narrow in your views.

So the gist of the article is that the Republican party is actively trying to make people less intelligent and confused by basic scientific principles.

Seems like a given.

I would say so, but Im not going to say humans are the sole cause.

Well, humans are the direct cause of the the speeding up of climate change. The amount of CO in the atmosphere, garbage in the oceans, etc. is because of us.

But the Earth has been warming up naturally for the last 10,000+ years, humans have been "helping" the warming for the last 200 years.

I guess you can't fix stupid. If people are going to believe in angels over believing in basic science, then we're just screwed I'm afraid.

This is just the British thinking they are better than us, I'm sure if you did a poll in Europe it would be the same if not worse.

My son's science teacher decided to skip the section on the Big Bang Theory because she doesn't believe it. This is a science "teacher" in a public school:realmad:. I would have no problem with her saying she has her doubts about the Big Bang but to just ignore it is wrong.
