Offensive 3 deep looking VERY good...QB is the only real question mark.

I agree. Which is why I was shocked to hear such negativity from the Spring game. If Farniok is healthy all year, I think our line can actually not suck this year. It's just too bad we never seem to have a guy that can come in here, take the starting QB job by the nuts and make it his *****.

Mesaclone,

Is this depth chart from the coaches? Or just yours?

I don't really think QB is a question mark. Rohach will be the guy.

Having played some center, I winced when reading this sentence.

Yeah, it brings back painful memories for me, too. I was the back up center in 7th grade. Our back up QB had the smallest, weakest hands I've ever seen. I was sore by the end of practice every day if you know what I mean.

So the offense looks very good, except for the most important position.

Not sure what to make of that.

But after all these years of offensive inefficiency, I'm less worried about them. Our offense really can't get worse. Well, maybe they can, but they can't disappoint any more than before.

Ben Boesen at 6'6, 240 should be a great target at TE especially in the end zone. I remember him being pretty solid blocking on the line and decent route running for being young but he seemed skinny. He was good on special teams too, but he got injured against Texas right? Anyways, TE and WR and RB should be great. I won't be convinced on OL until I see some real production, Farniok is probably the only player that would sniff the field at another big 12 school

Mesaclone,

Is this depth chart from the coaches? Or just yours?

There has yet to be an updated depth chart posted on Cyclones.com. Don't know the origination of Mesaclone's data, but would imagine it will be pretty close to accurate once an "official" depth chart is released.

Jauan Wesley won't play as a true Freshman unless he can pass up can pass Lawry and take the second spot at slot receiver. I'd love to see Michael Warren out there, but I think it only happens if he's one of our top two running backs.

I think he meant it regarding production, not who the starter was.

Yep, I'd be excited about the season if we get the performances out of GR like what we saw against KU and WVU to end last year. 631 yds passing 6 TD's 2 INT's in those 2 games. The rest of the year was pretty poor and inconsistent with him and SR.

Just need Rohach to put up those type of performances against the OSU/UT/KSU/TCU's of the world to have a successful season. I have hope that Mangino and Sturdy can coach/teach him up into a very quality Big 12 QB.

Maybe GR is a cold weather qb and SR is warm weather.

Just my amateur stab at it.
You might end up being close to right, but at this point there are a couple of selections that would not be on any "official" release. Guys who are not yet enrolled will have to earn spots in August rather than be listed on a spring depth chart.

I agree on offense. Defense I'm going to pulling my hair out all year long... Only problem is that I'm not sure Rohach is the guy. From the physical skills stand point, I want Lanning. I don't care if there's growing pains. That kid has tremendous upside.

In the end I scoffed at the thread when I saw it, simply because our qb's have been awful for years now. I'm pulling for them, but they haven't given me much to stand on.
