1. Id imagine most of it is ad revenue. Also worth noting that there is one owner that owns some of the biggest tube sites and some of the biggest pay sites.
2. Im sure some people pay for a site because the overall quality is better. All full videos, not just little 3 minute clips that some of the free sites are 90% full of.
3. Some probably pay for more niche content. The weirder what you're into the more you're probably going to have to pay. And lets remember rule 34 of the internet, if it exists, there is porn of it.
