who do we want to play in the 1st round of the big12 tournament?

I know we want the 2nd or 3rd seed to avoid Ku til the finals.. but really, regardless of seed.. what is our best matchup in round 1? Texas, k state, Oklahoma, Oklahoma state, west Virginia???

All possibilities are difficult.. the thought of meeting oklahoma state 5 days after we see them in Hilton isnt good. Especially since the cowboys are fighting to get in to the dance.

Texas has a size advantage over us

We know w Virginia can skunk us (morgantown Feb 10)

Oklahoma has Spangler and hield

We prob match up against k state the best..

KSU through BU is pretty muddy for me. BU is the most talented but we match up well with them. Maybe Ill change it to tiers.....

That is my one "basketball gods" wish....TCU with an upset and we then get to face them. Sure, winning the tourney going through KU would be sweet..but so is winning the tourney. Same for the big dance, would love to get one of the "upset" type of teams from the first round that isn't Cinderella caliber.

I think how we play matters more than who we play.

If we play well (and I would assert that we have been playing well for the games after the 1st WVU game), I think we will win.

So seed 1 (Kansas) plays the 8-9 winner
Seed 2 (TBD) plays the 7-10 winner

If we get the 2 seed we could get TCU if they upset the 7. Both are unlikely.

I don't see us getting the 2 since we lose the tiebreakers to everybody.

I think were looking at a 3,4,5 seed regardless.

"First game" you meant first game. First round is the 8-9 and 7-10 games.
