I liked it better when we were just a scary team, not a favorite. This gives me expectations and stuff. In my experience with those, I leave disappointed.

I'm the opposite. I love the national coverage. It's pretty sweet to turn on the radio in the middle of KU and KSU country and hear someone brag on Iowa State.

I get you 100% but I'm over being the little engine that could.

Me too. We got up to the Top Ten and weren't quite ready to take everyone's best shot. I have a feeling we'll be back there in a couple weeks and will have a chance to correct that.

The national recognition is really cool to see but I feel like the team always plays better when they have that "Us vs. The World" mentality

I guess I never looked at us like that. Nothing really surprised me (outside of Freds ability to coach right away) but it was cool to be that team that was a sleeper and not the team expected to challenge KU. Good news-Projections will have us about 5th in the conference next year when we lose Kane and Ejim so I will be happy and condescending again.

That's all well and good but the time we start feeling all warm and fuzzy Huggie Bear goes and hands us our *****. I prefer hungry over content.

That game didn't surprise me. In fact, I didn't even watch it. I thought it would be a 10-15 point loss...not a million.

I always feel like we play better when we're passing the ball at our top level and Kane & Ejim are making 75% of their layups.

people complaining on ISU not getting national recognition, and when it finally rolls around people down play it and wish it wasn't so.
