Jack Whitver had an interesting point on the podcast which got me thinking. Whitver asked (and answered) "Would you want Mark Mangino over Lane Kiffin?"

My answer: 100% absolutely yes. Mangino has been there and done it with KU level talent and produced four straight years with a Top30 offense at KANSAS. Think about that for a moment.
Compare that to the worthless, vapid meatsack with good hair that is Lane Kiffin.

When have you been able to say, I would want Iowa State's OC more than Alabama's?

What do you say?

I would take Mangino in a heartbeat over Kiffin because I believe he is just a better fit for ISU. And his presser was awesome. I voted Lane Kiffin on the poll because I'm on my phone and I couldn't read which one was which so, my bad.

Lane Kiffin is like some sort of coaching version of Paris Hilton minus the obvious route of his inheritance.

I just don't like Kiffin. I'd probably pick Messingham over him. (well maybe not)

I'm not sure. I'd rather have Mangino on game day but Kiffin is a hell of a recruiter.

ISU hires a new OC a couple of days ago so you feel the need to express some sort of displeasure by starting a poll as to whether the people would want him or someone else?

Well on the bright side, he can look at the current results and feel pretty good.

am I missing some context that even makes this close? What job has Kiffin had where you can say for certain he was a success?

I would prefer Monte Kiffin to Lane Kiffin. Monte would bring a definite element of toughness to the offensive. The son is not worthy to hold the father's clipboard.

Here nor there
You're comparing their abilities to be head coaches rather than their ability to be OCs. Huge difference in skillsets.
Is that really a more favorable comparison for Kiffin? His success is entirely built on his father's name, the glamour of the schools he coached at, and cheating.

Mangino...........just because i think he might stick around if he is happy. Kiffin is going to be looking for the next big job.

You've missed the center of my point by, oh, about 180 degrees.

I'm with Jack Whitver and wondered if others were also. I'd take Mangino over Kiffin 100 times out of 100.

Is this a joke? Lane is the devil. I wouldn't want that guy in any leadership position.
