Fake green. I did real trees for several years, and I love it, but the charm vs. work wears off after a while.
We also have a Charlie Brown Fake tree.

As for at school, my roommates and I plan on putting some tinsel and a star on our traffic cone that we borrowed during the Lincoln Way construction.

i have a cherry tree and then a few oaks and also a 30ft evergreen. Neighbors have all maple. Great question, great thread.
As far as the tree, we are fakes. I would love a real tree, but we have a dog similar to Cousin Eddie's.

After last year's debacle of our tree falling on me as I was stringing the lights, drenching my legs and feet with the water in the tree stand, and finally getting the tree to stay upright by wiring and anchoring it to 40 pounds of bar-bell weights, I talked my wife into an artificial tree. We've been going to a tree farm for the past 27 years and cutting one down. She is sad the tradition is over but glad we won't have the cleanup to deal with after Christmas when the tree usually explodes needles all over the carpet, entryway, and porch.
The new tree is still in the box for now, just in case she changes her mind.

We get a real tree every year. It's a lot more work than artificial, but I love the smell and to me just looks nicer.
