What's on the menu for tomorrow? What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?

I'm not a huge Thanksgiving person. I'm pretty grateful for everything all year round, and the food is mostly bland usually. Scalloped corn is usually what I show up to eat.

All the foods that I hate are on Thanksgiving. I hate pumpkin pie, stuffing, cranberries, mashed potatoes, gravy, casseroles (or hot dishes if your from Minnesota), etc. Just like the past years the only thing I eat is Turkey.

Douse that **** in Gravy! The only condiment that can fix anything!

The act of eating is a dicey proposition for me the next couple of days as I'm having oral surgery in a couple of hours. The only given is that I'll most likely be high on Vicodin for Thanksgiving.

Yeah, I'm not huge into any of those, either - I only liked mashed potatoes if they have the skins still on, or if there's something interesting in them (otherwise the texture is just not appealing to me). Even turkey is usually bland. I'm lucky my husband is a great cook and uses lots of herbs and spices and stuff to make things more interesting.

I DO use gravy to get down the turkey and potatoes!

Casino buffet. Wife and I both work the day after and no family is coming. So, the family will do the turkey trot at the fairgrounds before, casino after. Looking forward to lots of whatever I want and no cleanup. But stuffing is my favorite.

I'm just going to say it, I rather have ham than turkey on Thanksgiving.

Standard answer = a lot.

Favorite dish that I've never had outside my family is sweet dressing. Basically bread, apples, raisins, doused in cinnamon and sugar. When I describe it most people respond, "oh like bread pudding". I've had bread pudding and it's probably in the same category, but it sucks compared to this.

My favorites are mashed potatoes and gravy, my wife makes excellent mashed potatoes, and some really good sweet corn.
