I stepped away for a bit to eat. Seriously how does this thread not already exist.

Melvin last year was great but based on this game he's really stepped it up. Amazing game and probably not 100%.

In ISU history this was the equivalent of Willis Reed playing in MSG.

This has the potential to be a very special team. He has some help now with the rebounding with Hogue, Niang, and Kane. If the outside shooting can just pick up a little bit...could be a very good year.

The talk about his improved ball handling was absolutely 100% true. Guy can do it all.

He may be the best leader we have had at ISU in years. No way in years past ISU wins this game based on chemistry issues and too many guys wanting to be "the man" at this point. Thought some players were pressing too hard to start today and Ejim came in and suddenly everyone knew their role and ISU got it going. Going to be a fun ride for him this year I hope!

Ejim looks even better this year
This x1000! I expected him to be rusty - but he was, in my estimation the best player on the floor (with NS of Mich a close second). I am so glad we had him today - I agree with another poster, we do not win this without him!

Melvin cemented himself as a cyclone legend tonight. He was the best player on the court with 1.5 legs. Much love to Melvin tonight for repetrsenting the cyclones well.

Best thread of the night

Yes. A BIG Thank You to Melvin Ejim. A truly great Cyclone. You chose to become a Cyclone while some other guy I can't remember snubbed us and went someplace else. Thank you Melvin.

And for a serious post, Ejim proved he was the glue of the Cyclone team this season. He's the leader!

We don't win this game at this point in the year with last year's team - Ejim talked on the post game with DV about the biggest difference between the two ISU teams - we are BETTER on 'D.' We got stops down the stretch and didn't let them get back into it. It stayed a 3 possession game with under 45sec to go & that was huge.
