ISU does not renew Dillinger's contract / implications for other coaches?

For those who may have missed it, it was announced today that ISU is not renewing Wendy Dillinger's contract for women's soccer head coach. Her six-year record at ISU 48-58-11 (.410) overall and an 11-40-4 (.200) Big 12. Her seasons were (first to last):

5-12-2 (0-8-2)
7-9-4 (2-8-0)
8-10-2 (3-7-0)
9-9-1 (2-6-0)
10-10-1 (1-7-0)
9-8-2 (3-4-1)

Her departure is apparently immediate, as the assistant coach will be leading the club at the upcoming Big 12 championship.

Some questions for discussion:

1) Does anyone know if the non-renewal was based on performance?

2) If she was not retained because of performance, does the AD have to apply a similar standard next year to Rhoads after his sixth year to avoid accusations/appearance of unequal treatment?

If ISU FB ends up as many expect, Rhoads' overall winning % will be similar to Dillinger's. If ties are taken out (which aren't possible in CFB), Dillinger's overall winning % is actually higher than Rhoads. Rhoads is doing better in conference play.

she was also not renewed, which means fired yes, but wasn't terminated before the end of her contract. If the same principle is to apply to CPR then we have to wait until the end of his contract, regardless of the results next season.

Not sure how the contract works or when it was supposed to end exactly, just a thought. If she wasn't going to come back maybe they felt it better to have someone else take over, kind of how people felt about having Herman as OC when he was leaving the next season.

It is kind of surprising to me as well. ISU has only had women's soccer as a conference sport for 18 years. Again, if this coach lost her job for performance, is there a reason to expect ISU to be better in women's soccer, or is this a general reflection of the AD's expectation for all sports? Should it be "easy" to be a top-tier Big 12 women's soccer team? It's an honest question.
