I've been saying for a few months now that I would love to have last years schedule (with the Big 12/Iowa) rotation this year. So, what if ISU played last years schedule this year?

I'd go 8-4.

Tulsa- Win
@Iowa- Win
W. Illinois- Win
Tech- Win
@TCU- Loss
KSU- Win
@OSU- Loss
Baylor- Win
OU- Loss
@ Texas- Loss
@ Kansas- Win
W. Virginia- Win

Iowa kind of takes WILL's position. Tulsa is going to be tough. 100% agree with WVA

These type of what if's are stupid.

I guess the point is that a lot of ISU's toss up games are on the road this season (Tulsa, Tech, KSU, WV) and they are playing 3 of the top 4 teams in the league at home. Flip that around and the season has a better outlook.

Don't sleep on Tulsa. They have a really good team with a lot of good players returning, and will have home field advantage. I think they will run the ball all over us and force us to stack the box to open up the passing game. I really believe our offense MUST win this game for us.

I see your point but its just like threads comparing how we would do with Iowa's pansy *** schedule in the BIG joke. I guess its decent debate and it is July.

Of course switch ISU with iowa (and play home games @ JTS, not in IC) and also note there is no sign of Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State or Penn State. Some "conference."

That's Iowa's 2014 schedule, by the way. I could tell because there was no Missouri State game listed.

For this season it's:
Northern Illinois at Iowa
Missouri State at Iowa (watch out for the mighty Bears!)
Iowa State (at Ames)
Western Michigan at Iowa (Kinnick has been a great place for directional Michigan schools)
Minnesota (at Minneapolis)
Michigan State at Iowa
Ohio State (at Columbus)
Northwestern at Iowa
Wisconsin at Iowa
Purdue (at West Lafayette)
Michigan at Iowa
Nebraska (at Lincoln)
Big Ten championship ga - oh, wait. Never mind.

Looks like 2014 will be better than 2013.

And Iowa fans say they want to drop the ISU game so they can play a really good team.........while the other 3 non-conference games they play are Northern Illinois, Missouri State, and Western Michigan. ISU is their toughest non-conference game by far.

Northern Illinois is pretty good so I wouldn't say ISu is by far their toughest game.

I've been saying for a few months now that I would love to have last years schedule (with the Big 12/Iowa) rotation this year. So, what if ISU played last years schedule this year?

I'd go 8-4.
I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of these, "What if we had some other schedule" scenarios, just because we don't and you play the cards you're dealt.

However, I'll offer a moderately more realistic scenario for you.

What if, last season...Jake Knott, Jansen Watson, Jake McDonough and Durrell Givens hadn't gotten hurt? Or, on the other side of the ball, Josh Lenz and Ethan Tuftee?

Shoot, I won't even drop Shaban Dika into the equation.

What if?

That said, I'd be overjoyed to make it through this year's schedule without those kinds of injuries. What if we do? :biggrin:
