Van De Velde fired again.

Some of the stories on here are incredible. Hate to see anyone lose their job but maybe he can do something else now. Hopefully it won't be as a big 12 official.

I'll never forget when he was my seat mate on a flight from Atlanta to Des Moines, and he actually pulled out his budget to show me what he had to work with. It was a somewhat uncomfortable flight.

Him and that damn budget. If he would have tried to find ways to make more money he would have had more money to work with. Instead he worried about how he was going to save a penny and almost ran the thing into the ground.

Why their AD isn't much better.

Couldn't agree more with that. I LOVE it when we have the edge over EIU. Better AD, better fb coach, mbb coach, the list goes on and on. The best part is that the hawk know it deep down in their cold hearts, it just hurts to acknowledge it.

While at ISU, I met with Bvdv on multiple occassions about casting a bronze statue to commemorate Cael Sanderson's accomplishments (159-0 and still at ISU). While the statue idea may look like a bust in hindsight, Bruce wasn't willing to invest in capturing the spirit and the excitement.

The man has no vision and couldn't sell ice water to people in hell.

I just write BVD and call him Mr. Underpants. Anyone remember BVD brand undies?

The man couldn't raise money if it grew on trees it seemed like. Mr. Underpants viewed his role as a care taker, not an innovator like the men who came before and after him.

My buddies were not so happy after LE was fired, so they decided to make a phone call to his actual personal residence as a joke. He actually picked up a phone and spoke to my buddies for few minutes and explained why he had to let LE go. I don't know if he is naive, nice, or just plain stupid.

I love his wiki page! The ommissions are yummy...and sad.

Funny, no mention of how he stepped on his crank by not bothering to call back a bowl because "they could do better" so his 9-3 football team who were offered a bowl spot sat at home.
