I believe, in an unprecedented move, the officials allowed the game to go into OT even though one team had more points than the other.

I am looking at the play by play on ESPN. ESPN has Purdue winning with a few seconds to go and Iowa a missing shot, then overtime starts with Purdue up by 1. Does someone know what really happened?

The game was actually played in Lawrence KS. Purdue scored the extra point between the end of regulation play and the beginning of overtime, while the commercials were running. After conferring with the official scorers table, the refs concluded the points could not be taken off the board.
