Just watched the WV game on DVR and noticed that one of our kickoffs appeared to stop in the endzone and the refs called it a touchback. Isn't that a live ball?
I believe the ball is dead when in the end zone unless the receiving team touches it before it goes to the ground (see the UNI playoff game last year).
Similar to a punt, automatic touchback when it breaks the plane.Just watched the WV game on DVR and noticed that one of our kickoffs appeared to stop in the endzone and the refs called it a touchback. Isn't that a live ball?

...thisIf it breaks plane and hits the endzone its dead. If it was touched in field of play its live. If its caught in the endzone then they must take a knee for a touchback
