Just saw this article on Yahoo! and the comparison makes a lot of sense. Any thoughts?

Newton has been able to get by on pure athleticism his whole life and visibly shows frustration when it isn't working anymore.

Vince Young has very real mental health issues that interfere with his ability to be an NFL player.

I don't think the two are very comparable.

Cam Newton is better at running, passing, and managing a game. Other than that I can see the comparison.

Cam has basically nothing to work with at the moment. He's nearly matched the combined yardage of both running backs, his biggest target is a still very good but old Steve Smith, and a below average defense.

too early to tell. Plenty of quarterbacks have experienced ups and downs early in their careers. the article mentions Eli Manning, specifically and he's a great example. He's had tremendous ups and downs.

Now that defensive coordinators have had a year to disect his game they can do things to stop/confuse him.
I'm not ready to compare Cam Newton to Vince Young though.

Care to explain? Both have won individual games and neither have won a playoff game so I don't see why that is unfair to Vince.
